Track 11

Valentia Valise

Posted on Posted in When daylight Arrives

I’m going to Valentia my dear Ireland home
I’m tired of the highways that I’ve had to roam
The flowers in her hedgerows are calling to me
And my sweet little mammy who lives by the sea

Of all of the places and triumphs I’ve seen
There’s nothing as lovely as Valentia green
And there’s nothing smells sweeter than Valentia air
I’m going back home to live out my days there

You can keep London with her towers of stone
I’ll take the swallows who nest round my home
So I’m buying an acre and planting some trees
And I’m throwing away my Valentia valise
Yes I’m buying an acre for mammy and me
And I’m throwing away my Valentia Valise
