summers here 2007
Hi folks two months since I wrote anything...baaad! Myspace has taken over my life!
The tour is over now and I can get down to some writing. The album will be finished in time for an autumn release when I will scrap with all the big guys for a little airpay!
I absolutely loved touring. It's so different than when I did it years ago. When I was really young and just starting out I was incredibly lonely. All those hotel rooms and restaurants with travelling salesmen eyeing me up wondering what on earth I was doing there on my own!
Now it's just me ,my guitar and radio 4... heaven! I found that I got into the rythmn of motorway driving after a while and it became a pleasure to drive. Finding the venue is always interesting, a bit like treasure hunt!
I can't wait to get out there again.I'll be doing my best to book a gig near to you.
My other project is a musical I've been asked to write for my friend John Gorman.I have no idea how it'll turn out at this stage but I've already written 3 songs so that's a good start! Wish me luck!
I hope you all have a great summer.I'll be back when I have some news.
lots of love

Just wanted to say hello and reply to your latest posting.
I hope the recording is going well.
The reason I am posting so late (look at the time stamp) is because I got back from the midnight opening of Waterstones for the latest Harry Potter book and I am just taking a break from reading, by coming here and reading posts. LOL.
Hi, I have here the lyrics to your song "The Moon Is A Powerful Lover". At least, I hope it's you and that it IS your song.
This version is the earliest I guess, a bit electro techno, and 5m04sec long.
My question is: what are the seemingly French Lyrics spoken in the middle?
Right after "with a swirl and a swan and a sweep"? Ce soir something? at 02:35?
Also, between the two lines "the moon, is a powerful lover", and "there is just no other who touches me down", is something which I can't make out. At 02:50?
At 03:20, "the souls at all who come under his spell" is that correct? souls or soul less?
At 04:07, during the end stanza, what are those French lyrics?
In addition to the excerpts above, I've marked the places where the lyrics are unclear to me with [ ??? ]
I hope you might shed some light on this, it's subject of considerable debate amongst my friends and I, whom, I suppose you might call the Amsterdam chapter of the highly unofficial Dutch Claire Hamill Fanclub .... ;)
=====start lyrics ====
Lifting and blowing,
my table is laid now
the moon, is a powerful lover
he comes undercover of night
when it's time for us to be alone
the moon, is a powerful lover
there is no other
who touches me down to my bones
lifting and blowing,
my table is laid now
the moon, is a powerful lover
he comes to uncover my wildest of words
when I cry out for you
how soon will you tell you love her
and run off into the dawn
with a swirl and a swan and a sweep
[a swoon ???]
the moon, is a powerful lover
[ce soir ???]
he comes undercover of night
when we are alone
the moon, is a powerful lover
[ ??? ]
there is just no other who touches me down
oh, how he shines all around me
my senses combined with his tranquility
oh the moon, is a powerful lover
he comes to discover
the souls at all who come under his spell
how soon will you tell you love her?
and run off into the night
with the silver moonlight lovers all know so well
the magical spell
oh, my magical moon
it's a miracle, it's a miracle
it's a miracle, [si bon soir ???] it's a miracle
[si plus fort] oh bonsoir [si pleu ???]
it's a miracle,
it's a miracle!
ooooh the moon, lover

hi claire! by the looks of things you won't be reading this till next year and it's quite urgent. this morning i found out by chance that you were in hanover last friday and saturday (2days!!!)- where i now live - and i missed you. i'm devastated! i bought your first three albums and the recent chanting one. you were such an inspiration to me. i recently recorded my own version of "peaceful". anyway, now i've missed you. are you doing any more dates in germany? i would so love to see you live (see hamill and die, sort-of-thing!).
